You will start your day out by learning the basics of the art of fly casting. The rest of your day will be spent floating the Deschutes River learning how to chose and present your fly to the famous Deschutes Redside Trout. In addition you will learn about the different forms of bug life that trout feed on. And if all goes well you will also get many chances during the day to learn how to hook, land and release these magnificent trout. Bischof's Fly Fishing: is a licensed and insured guide service specializing in single day, and 2-3 day camping and fly fishing float trips on Oregon's Deschutes River. It is owner operated by Brandon and Mary Bischof. Years of boating, fishing, guiding and living on the river year round in Maupin has provided us a wealth of knowledge and information about the Deschutes and the fascinating strain of trout and steelhead that survive in this high desert river. Our service caters to first time fly fishers to seasoned veterans, and everyone else in between. We do our best to make each and every trip memorable and unique. Whether you have never casted a fly rod before or have been casting for years and just want to brush up on some advanced skills, our instructors can help you. We present our lessons on a private, appointment-only basis, which guarantees you personal attention. Our skilled instructors can teach almost anyone to fly cast in under two hours.

Private Spey Casting Lessons: For fly anglers the art of spey casting has opened up a whole new world, allowing anglers to make longer cast, the ability to control greater amounts of line and presenting a fly where they never could with a standard fly rod. All of this adds up to your fly being presented to more fish, which means, you will hook more fish. Sounds easy, well now you need to learn how to cast and fish a spey rod. The best way to learn the art of spey casting is to spend a half to a full day with one of the best instructors on the water. Spey Casting Lessons with Tom Larimer: If you truly want to take your casting ability to a higher level, consider personal coaching. Outside of guiding, Tom Larimer offers personalized two-handed casting instruction. It is a lot easier to improve your skills as a caster if you’re not focused on the fish. Tom is schooled in all styles and methods of two-handed casting, however short-belly lines (55ft.belly) and shooting tapers (Scandinavian shooting heads, Skagit heads, etc.) are the bread and butter of the lines he cast's for steelhead.
