abel-tr-5-6-custom-fly-reel-deep-green
Abel TR 5/6 Custom Fly Reel - Deep Green

Classic Trout Reel. Custom Deep Green Finish.

This custom Abel TR 5/6 pairs a Deep Green finish with a platinum aluminum handle for a distinctive take on a classic trout reel. Sized for 5wt and 6wt fly rods, it combines the TR's familiar click-pawl sound with a large-arbor spool and a pronounced palming rim for hands-on control.

Designed and machined in Montrose, Colorado, the TR stays true to its original roots while adding a modern design and thoughtful details. An integrated, precision-balanced clicker on the spool eliminates the need for a counterweight, keeping the look clean. When a trout runs, the palming rim lets you manually adjust pressure, while the large arbor helps reduce line memory and increase retrieval rate.

Custom Configuration

Model: Abel TR 5/6

Color: Deep Green

Handle: Platinum aluminum

Rod match: 5wt and 6wt fly rods

Features

Click-pawl system designed to protect light tippet while preventing spool overrun

Integrated precision-balanced spool clicker eliminates the need for a counterweight

Pronounced palming rim for manual drag control

Large-arbor spool designed to reduce line memory and increase retrieval rate

Quick-change spool with a threaded release cap

Standard partially ported frame balances weight, sound, and aesthetics

Milled stonefly, caddis, and mayfly silhouettes inside the frame

Machined stainless steel accents on the frame and spool

21 meticulously machined parts

Designed and machined in Colorado; made in the USA

TR 5/6 Specifications

Diameter: 3.68 inches

Spool width: 0.775 inches

Weight: 5.19 oz.

Capacity: WF6 fly line plus 100 yards of 20 lb. backing

Need Help Matching Your Trout Setup?

Call the shop for help pairing this TR 5/6 with your trout rod, fly line, and backing.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0994/2715/6339/files/20261105_130403_948841d1-00fa-4fa7-87d6-b0412f4cac51.jpg?v=1793915379
