Kodiak Island 2002: My client was convinced that there were no more fish in the run despite having caught several within the past hour. He was mostly just tired of catching and wanted to take a break. So he bets me $20 that I can’t catch a fish on my first cast. I even let him pick out the fly. To my surprise, he picked a Starlite Leech (big mistake on his part) and I proceeded to catch my biggest coho ever on my first cast. I still have that fly, but I spent the $20.
