Nymph Flies

Fish below the surface with nymph flies designed to imitate mayflies, caddis, stoneflies, midges, and other aquatic insects. Explore beadhead nymphs, weighted and unweighted patterns, attractors, and proven trout flies for rivers, streams, lakes, and stillwater.

Choose the Right Nymph Fly

The right nymph depends on the insects present, water depth, current speed, season, and how fish are feeding. Natural patterns help match specific aquatic insects, while brighter attractor nymphs can draw attention when conditions are unclear or visibility is limited.

Consider fly size, bead weight, profile, color, and sink rate. Nymphs can be dead-drifted beneath an indicator, fished as a dropper, or presented with tight-line techniques. Carrying several sizes and weights makes it easier to adjust depth and match changing conditions.
