Flats Flies

Prepare for saltwater flats fishing with flies designed for bonefish, permit, redfish, tarpon, and other shallow-water species. Explore shrimp, crab, baitfish, and attractor patterns in a range of sizes, colors, and weights for tropical and coastal flats.

Choose the Right Flats Fly

The right flats fly depends on the target species, water depth, bottom composition, available forage, and how quickly the pattern needs to sink. Lightly weighted flies provide softer presentations in shallow water, while heavier patterns help reach fish in deeper flats, stronger current, or windy conditions.

Consider fly size, color, profile, hook strength, sink rate, and weed-guard requirements. Carrying shrimp, crab, and baitfish patterns in several weights makes it easier to adapt to changing species, tides, and water conditions.
