Ant Flies for Trout & Terrestrial Fishing

Ant flies are a simple but highly effective choice when trout are looking for terrestrials. Shop foam ants, flying ant patterns and traditional dry flies for fishing along grassy banks, under overhanging trees and anywhere natural ants are likely to end up on the water.

Ant patterns can be especially productive during late summer and early fall, but they are worth carrying throughout the warmer months. Fish them alone, as part of a dry-dropper setup or alongside other terrestrial patterns when trout are keyed in on surface food.
