This custom Abel TR 5/6 pairs a Deep Green finish with a platinum aluminum handle for a distinctive take on a classic trout reel. Sized for 5wt and 6wt fly rods, it combines the TR's familiar click-pawl sound with a large-arbor spool and a pronounced palming rim for hands-on control.

Designed and machined in Montrose, Colorado, the TR stays true to its original roots while adding a modern design and thoughtful details. An integrated, precision-balanced clicker on the spool eliminates the need for a counterweight, keeping the look clean. When a trout runs, the palming rim lets you manually adjust pressure, while the large arbor helps reduce line memory and increase retrieval rate.
