Echo Shadow II Fly Rods

Description:

Designed by Tim Rajeff and Team USA angler Pete Erickson, the ECHO Shadow II is a purpose-built euro nymphing rod focused on sensitivity, control, and versatility. Light in hand with a fast, responsive tip, it delivers the precise strike detection needed for technical nymphing while still having the backbone to cast a clean loop when fish start rising.

The Shadow II lives in the sweet spot between performance and value, making it a favorite for both competitive and everyday anglers. Its lightweight graphite construction enhances feel and reduces fatigue, while the fast action provides the control needed to manage long leaders, detect subtle takes, and stay connected to your flies in complex currents.

For anglers who want even more customization, the optional Competition Kit adds two 6-inch extensions, a removable fighting butt, and counterweight washers—allowing you to fine-tune rod length and balance for specific techniques or regulations.

Whether you’re stepping into euro nymphing for the first time or fishing at a competitive level, the Shadow II delivers the sensitivity and control needed to fish with confidence.

Note: When matching any ECHO Euro Nymph rods to a non-Euro Nymph line, we recommend sizing up one size for the line. Ex: For a 3wt rod, use a 4wt line.
