RIO Ambassador Series Gray Struznik - Skagit Timberline

RIO Ambassador Series

The Skagit Timberline was designed with coastal steelhead rivers in mind, but it's equally at home on your favorite inland rivers. Its short, powerful head, paired with the appropriate sink tip, delivers big flies with ease in tighter casting spaces. Backed up against a bank, surrounded by trees, or without room for a big D-loop? That's exactly why the Skagit Timberline was created.

Developed for anglers fishing challenging steelhead water, the RIO Ambassador Series Skagit Timberline offers the power needed to turn over heavy sink tips and larger flies without requiring much room behind the caster. Its compact 18-foot floating head and rear-loaded taper make it especially well suited to shorter two-handed Spey rods.

Where the Timberline really shines: Tight coastal steelhead rivers, wooded banks, deep wading situations, and runs where a conventional longer Skagit head can be difficult to manage. Whether you're swinging winter steelhead flies on the Olympic Peninsula or fishing inland rivers closer to home, this compact Skagit shooting head helps you make effective casts when space is limited. Pair it with an appropriate sink tip and running line to complete your setup.
