Travis (GFS Owner) was asked one day, if he could only carry a handful of flies, what would they be, what would he grab on the way out the door not knowing the river, or conditions? Bead Head Pheasent Tail #16 made the list.
Details
The BH Pheasant Tail Nymph is one of the first flies to put in a trout box. Its slim, buggy profile convincingly imitates mayfly nymphs and a range of aquatic life, while the bead head helps it reach the strike zone.
Fish it deep or shallow under an indicator, on a Euro nymphing rig, or below a dry fly. Effective in clear water, pressured fisheries, and throughout the season.
