Largely unchanged and going as strong as ever, the Torque remains one of the best values in fly fishing. Well-machined, lightweight, and equipped with a time-tested drag system, it stands as one of the greatest fly reels ever built.
Gunmetal Grey first appeared on the Galvan G.E.N. fly reels. Everyone agreed it was a great color. The New Galvan Swing Spey Reel is also done in Gunmetal Grey. Again, Great color choice! So we asked Galvan if we can get a run of Galvan Torque's in this color? Here they are!
Is the Torque a good choice for both freshwater and saltwater? Yes, many anglers choose it as a crossover reel because it’s designed to fish hard and maintain consistent drag control across different environments. Rinsing after saltwater use is key.
The Torque is freshwater friendly / saltwater safe, and will perform flawlessly under the harshest conditions. From remote alpine lakes to the saltwater flats the highly ventilated spool and frame balance nicely with the lightest of todays fly rods yet still compliments a modern big game saltwater stick. The Torque is tough as nails and skillfully marries the technology of the future with the tradition of the past.
